Fine sand, dunes and maritime pines: explore the beaches of southern Oléron, from the ocean side to calm family coves.

Southern Oléron has two very different moods: on the ocean side, long sandy beaches backed by state forest; on the Maumusson and bay side, calmer sheltered beaches that work well with children.
All the beaches listed here are within about fifteen minutes of the residence, and most can be reached by shaded cycle paths.

The classic ocean beach: kilometres of pale sand, regular waves and pine forest behind the dune. Lifeguards are present in the central area in July and August.

Our favourite for family swimming: soft sand, gentle slope and views towards Pointe de Maumusson. The path crosses a very shaded pine wood.
